To achieve success, an entrepreneur should be motivated.
What many overlook is that motivation comes from passion. Every book
published or e-book that deals in money making and motivation screams
passion - the most important charactersitic of any successful
entrepreneur.
Same thing apploies when you think about going after that extra income
with a home business. To be successful, you have to create a
burning passion...if not for the business or product, then for the
money it will produce and what that extra income will allow you to do.
It will keep your fire glowing for a long time, especially until the
first results become apparent.
After that, passion at the necessary level keeps itself in rotation.
More success means more money, which produces more passion in
the pursuit. After all, for most of us, money is one of the
biggest motivators.
An entrepreneur embarking upon the route building a successful, extra
income producing home business should strongly believe in
himself/herself and the capabilities he
or she already have, or can develope.
He or she should also be thick-skinned and not be perturbed or
affected in any way by the negative comments or opinions of others..
Most of those people are either laying their own fears on you, or are
just plain jealous.
Having a clear conscience and firm belief in oneself trumps the need
for external approval.
Want proof? Well, once you are successful and start earning
extra income, the negative opinions and nasty comments will turn into
praise. However, to get to that point, one should have the ability and
courage to make independent decisions and abide by them.
This would be your most valuable asset yet.
One problem with seeing oneself as successful is that many online
businesses are basically scams This fact is going to be the
basis for popular opinions of people around you in any part of the
world. Your legitmate online business needs your approval heart and
soul; otherwise success will keep eluding you and so will the extra
income you planned to get from it.
Belief is incredibly important, don't you think? After all,
if Thomas Edison did not believe, that electricity can be harnessed to
light up human life; we would still be living in the dark ages,
wouldn’t we? It was he who "failed" hundreds of
times before finally achieving success.
Being flexible with your working hours, being energetic, planning
wisely, focusing on short-term objectives and controlling
stress are hallmarks of a successful home business owner. If
you think you lack in any of them, start practicing till you make these
attributes a part of your involuntary senses.
Having the discipline to start a home based business is very important,
but to know where to stop is more important.
Do not overwork or stress yourself by not stopping when you
should. It will only burn out your imagination and render you useless
for some time to come. Making a nice chunk of extra income in a short
time, you might lose out on the next few dollars (ex: Burning yourself
out today may earn you $1000 today, but, by not working for the next 3
days you could lose $500 X 3 = $1500).
Be flexible in order to take advantage of opportunities or achieve
important goals, but plan your work and work your plan. Work
the number of hours as per the plan you carefully laid out.
Later, the income from a successful home business can be very
rewarding, but, at first, building your business is more important than
earning money out of it. As your business reaches the point where it
sustains itself and grows, the money you earn from it automatically
grows. Treat the home business as a business, of course, but also treat
is as you might a hobby and keep abreast of all aspects of it through
updated information. Knowledge does notneed to cost a cent here but
will help in decision making in all spheres of independent life.
Remember our comments about passion? If you cannot get
excited about your prospect or business, at least get excited about the
money you can earn with your own home business.
By the way, learning about something often generates more interest in
it and even, sometimes, excitement about it. The best
salesperson is the one who can transmit knowledge and excitement to the
buyer. You'll be more successful if you like what you are
doing..
Last, but certainly not the least, it is fear of failure, and not
failure itself leads to most failures. Keep trying and look at failure
as merely a part of the learning process and appreciate your benefit of
knowledge from it. After all, "learn from your mistakes", is a
lesson we all have learned in grade school, if not in
kindergarten.
