Step number 4. Train your downline members regularly.

In every field, learning is always a requirement. As Tom 'Big Al' Schreiter said in his great books on building an MLM business, "They train burger flippers, don't they?"  Even if you are a great teacher, you still need to study and learn and pass what you learn on to your downline.

The fact is that one of the biggest reasons for failure of distributors in the MLM industry is lack of training. It's right there behind lack of motivation. 

How to kill three birds with one stone. Learn everything you can about your company, your product, the competition, recruiting and prospecting, marketing, and sales and incorporate what you learn into your business. Then,share the good stuff with your downline and warn them about the time- and money-wasters you have encountered.

You will make more sales and find recruiting others becomes easier. They will find that they make more sales and that their recruiting efforts become easier. You and they will become more motivated to succeed, especially since they know that you really care and are willing to help them succeed.

One thing to consider is having a constant training schedule for your downline members. Studies show that having a a well-instructed downline creates a bigger, more successful MLM business than a downline with only outdated, stagnant information in mind.
